It increases 8, 4% the number of federated in Spain

In 2005, there were 279,660 golf members in Spain, 21.579 more than the previous year, which constitutes an increase of 8, 4% according to the Spanish Federation. Those figures emphasize the fact that golf is one of the most popular sport activities; the football, hunting and basketball licences numbers are the only ones to overcome it.
Nearly all Autonomous Regions registered significant increases, heading withLa Rioja (24, 2%), Castilla-La Mancha (23,5%), Murcia (20,1%), Melilla (14,7%), País Vasco (12,6%), Castilla y León (12,1%) and Extremadura (10,9%).
There was a 10% increase in Madrid, the Autonomous region which concentrates the highest number of members, that is to say 76.616 -27% of the total-. In the section of members per public courses, there were 28.951 people, which is considered as being already a 10, 4% of the total of Spanish licences.
