The Senior Championship of Spain will remain in Catalonia until 2009.
The Senior Championship of Spain (APG)will remain in Catalonia until 2009, according to José Luis Diaz-Varela, president of Indukern Group, main sponsor of the tournament.
The fifth edition of this championship, which will be played under the category of “medalplay”, with 54 holes and without break, will take place from the 3rd to 5th of May in the Golf Club of Sant Cugat del Vallés (Barcelona) and will award prizes amounting to 45.800€.
This is a new opportunity to test the play of the best Spanish veteran players, such as Manuel Piñero, Antonio Garrido, Pepín Rivero or Juan Quirós, who compete to supplant Emilio Rodriguez, the defender of the title.
Furthermore, like in the previous years, there will be a category “Supersenior” for players older than 60 years, which title is defended once more by Antonio Garrido.
