La Cuesta golf Course and La Rasa de Berbes, pioneers of the North of the region.
The golf courses of La Cuesta, in Llanes and La Rasa de Berbes in Ribadesella, have been opened several years ago and they are an important economic factor for the region of Asturias.
The golf course of Berbes was created in 1994, and since then, its growth has not stop. Nowadays, it counts with 210 partners. “This year it has reached a mayor adquisition of partners, we think this is because of the improvement of the infrastructure”, said Luis Pablo González, president of the golf course, who announced the access to the golf course will be improved next spring, 2006. This golf course has 11 holes and it is so frequently visited in summer.
In Llanes, the Town council created the golf course in 1999, which was managed by The golf Course La Cuesta until last 1st of July. Nowadays, the Town council is who manages the golf course, although they forecast that this management will be provisional. The golf course counts with a total of 1154 players, of which 1.025 are partners. The mayority of subscribers are from Asturias, followed by Madrid, Cantabria and Vizcaya.
